Your Guide to Long Beach Comic Con

Welcome to your guide to Long Beach Comic Con, where you’ll be able to learn everything you need to know about this incredible comic book convention. Starting Saturday, September 12, the Long Beach Convention Center will be packed with bold super heroes, dastardly evil villains, and other fictional characters for the two-day convention. A long list of comic book and pop culture icons will be conducting meet and greets, guest signings, and more.

Get Your Comic Con Tickets

Depending on how long you’d like to enjoy the convention, the ticket price for this year’s comic con varies. Those planning on only attending on Saturday can purchase a $30 ticket in advance, while those coming for Sunday only will only pay $25 for their advanced ticket. The best value is in the weekend pass for $50 when purchased in advance.

You’ll be able to buy tickets at the door if you choose not to purchase them online prior to the event, but prices will be higher ($35 for Saturday only, $30 for Sunday only, and $55 for a weekend pass). Keep in mind that advanced ticket holders also enjoy early admission to the convention (9:30 am on Saturday and 10 am on Sunday).

Costume Contest

One of the best parts of the Long Beach Comic Con is seeing all of the great, and often handmade, costumes worn by other guests. To reward your hard work, a costume contest will be held on Saturday beginning at 8:30 pm.

To sign up for the costume contest, visit the Nerds Like Us booth located in the Cosplay Corner anytime during the day before 7 pm. The panel of judges that will grade your handmade costumes is made up of Bernie Bregman from Nerds Like Us and Vegas Power Girl.

Prizes will be awarded to the winning costumes in the following categories: Best in Show, Best Hero, Best Villain, Best Youth (kids 12 and younger), Funniest, Best TV/Movie, Best Sci-Fi, and Judge’s Choice.

Where to Stay Nearby

Hundreds of people will be traveling to attend Long Beach Comic Con this year and if you’re one of them, you’re going to need a place to stay. Luckily, there are plenty of great hotels in the area, close to the convention center.

One nearby hotel is the Hyatt Regency Long Beach. This luxurious hotel is next door to the Long Beach Convention Center, making it an ideal place for your weekend stay. Be sure to mention that you’re coming for the comic book convention to receive special pricing.
