Our team at Norm Reeves Honda Superstore Cerritos is here to help you learn more about the benefits of Bluetooth® connectivity, as well as how to set it up in your new vehicle. Keep reading to get started!
In order to utilize Bluetooth® in your Honda, you’ll need to sync your phone to the system. First, you’ll need to make sure that Bluetooth® is activated on your phone.
Then, turn your Honda on and let the display screen appear. Press the home button on the top left-hand side of the screen. Press the “phone” button, then hit “yes” to confirm.
You’ll want to continue initiating the sync on your phone by opening the Bluetooth® menu. When you see HandsFreeLink® appear in the menu, highlight it and select “pair.” This will then begin to sync your phone with the Bluetooth® system.
When your phone is connected to your Honda Bluetooth®, you’ll be able to make phone calls from the road to family and friends. Whether you’re stuck in traffic or on a lengthy road trip, it allows you to place calls without having to use your hands, making a safe way to communicate without violating any of the state laws involving phones and driving.
You can also stream audio entertainment from your phone to your cabin speakers. Whether it’s stored media from your phone or through music apps, you can select your favorite artists, albums, playlists, or podcasts as the soundtrack for your journey!
Some Honda trims even offer features like Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™. These features actually integrate your phone into the screen, which can turn your Honda display into something that resembles your phone menu. From there, you can select your media, apps, text messages, contacts, and maps!
Connecting these features is similar to connecting the Honda Bluetooth®. Make sure the system is activated on your phone. Connect your phone via the USB port to the vehicle. When the car screen prompts you to enable Apple CarPlay® or Android Auto™, you’ll want to select “always enable”, so it’s connected the moment you start your vehicle. You’ll then be connected.
While the screen will display your phone’s menu, you can always shift back to the original Honda multimedia menu with a simple touch of the screen.
Now that you’re aware how to sync your phone to your Honda through Bluetooth®, you’re ready to enjoy the benefits of being connected while out on the roads of Cerritos, Buena Park, and Long Beach.
