2016 Twilight Concert Series

June 17th, 2016 by

The Twilight Concert Series is an awesome event for music fans throughout the Los Angeles area. When you’re in the mood for music under the stars, head to Santa Monica Pier for an awesome beachside show.

Here’s everything you should know about the 2016 Twilight Concert series.

What You Need to Know

The first Twilight Concert kicks off on Thursday, July 7, 2016. The series continues through Thursday, September 8, 2016. Each show goes from 7 to 10 pm, and admission is free on Thursday nights.

Whether you’re a fan of rock, reggae, or rap, all music lovers are welcome at this year’s Twilight Concert Series. Keep in mind that these concerts get crowded fast, especially with so many great acts playing this year. To get a good spot, plan on arriving at least one hour early.

We also recommend bringing a blanket, towel, beach chair, or something to sit on. Since the Twilight Concerts are general admission, seating isn’t provided.

  • If you want to avoid waiting, there are municipal lots around 2nd/Colorado that you can stake out.
  • Beach Lot 4S will have special discount parking at 2030 Ocean Avenue. Vehicles that park after 4 pm are required to pay a $5 fee and must leave 30 minutes after the show.
  • Beach Lot 1N, located north of the pier at 1550 PCH, will have a $25 flat rate for vehicles that enter after 4 pm. Keep in mind that rates of up to $14 in downtown structures and up to $5 in the Civic Center are in effect.

Where to Eat

If you get hungry, there are tons of spots on the Santa Monica Pier where you can grab a bite to eat. Some of our favorites are Bubba Gump Shrimp Co., Pier Burger, and Rusty’s Surf Ranch.

There’s also a Concert Garden for visitors 21 and up. Grab a Barefoot Wine, a Michelob Ultra, or one of their assorted cocktails and enjoy an awesome view of the concert.

What to Wear

Even though the Twilight Concerts take place in summer, it might get cold after the sun sets. Make sure that you bring a jacket or T-shirt to warm up if it gets chilly.
