6 Reasons to Add Taste of Brews to Your Summer 2016 Bucket List

If you ask us, there’s no better way to take on the dog days of summer than with an ice cold craft beer. We’re talking about perfectly blended ingredients brewed to form a complex landscape of flavors that spill and splash across the palate, begging to be interpreted, defined, and enjoyed.

With summer quickly coming to a close, calendars are filling up with last minute events. Here are six reasons why you’ll want Taste of Brews to be one of them.

1. It’s LB’s Original Craft Beer Festival, Brah

Long Beach is known for many things, including its rich cultural diversity, eco-friendly planning, abundant farmers’ markets and, of course, Snoop Dogg and Sublime.

But for the last six years, Long Beach has been making some serious waves in the craft beer world with the Taste of Brews event, which is slated for Saturday, August 20. As Long Beach’s premier craft beer festival, this is the summer treat to end your summer on a high note while at the same time taking part in what’s sure to be another one of LBC’s claims to fame.

2. Gives You an Excuse to Visit Lighthouse Park

Formally known as Shoreline Aquatic Park, this public space is one of the coolest spots in Long Beach. You can find everything here from speed boat rides to the Aquarium of the Pacific. And don’t forget the lighthouse, which makes the perfect background of your next profile pic.

3. 100+ Styles of Microbrews and Hard Ciders on Tap

We’ve all been to those craft beer festivals where there’s barely a handful of breweries, and even the ones that are there have maybe two or, at most, three of their brews on tap. Frankly, it’s hard to even call it a festival.

However, that’s far from what you’ll experience at Taste of Brews. With over 55 breweries on this year’s roster, you’ll have the option of tasting more than 100 microbrews and hard ciders from some of the best crafter brewers in the business.

4. Gourmet Food Trucks Galore

If there’s one thing better than delicious craft beer, it’s the salty and savory treats of a gourmet food truck. Nothing like the food trucks your father is probably use to, these mobile restaurants are bringing four- and five-star dining to the streets of California. What better to pair with a cold beverage on a warm summer afternoon?

5. It’s Cheaper Than Going to the Bar

Instead of paying $10 for a subpar IPA at some restaurant chain you’ve been to 100 times before, you could literally sample 100 different beers for AS LOW AS $30! Plus Taste of Brews will feature snack samples and as much drinking water as you need to stay properly hydrated. However, tickets are expected to sell fast, so order yours as soon as possible.

6. You’ll Be Supporting a Good Cause

If great food and unlimited tastings aren’t enough to convince you that Taste of Brews needs to be on your end-of-summer event list, then what about the fact that you’ll be helping to raise money for a local nonprofit? That’s right, proceeds from the Taste of Brews event go toward the Long Beach Marine Institute. This organization helps organize beach cleanups, leads fun and educational summer camps, and much more.

So in a way, your drinking is actually helping the community and the environment. Sound too good to be true? It’s not. Learn more by visiting the official Taste of Brews website and ordering your tickets today!
