Whether you’re 100% Irish, half Irish, or merely have a strong appreciation for the Irish tradition, chances are you’ll be celebrating St. Patrick’s Day with shamrocks, green garb, and maybe a drink or two. That’s because on March 17, we’re all Irish, or at least temporarily—we’re not sure exactly how it works.

To help you celebrate this holiday in true Irish fashion, we’ve selected some of the top St. Patrick’s Day events happening around Long Beach, CA. From an exhilarating fun run to live concerts and a $30 pub crawl, we’ve got something for every kind of St. Paddy’s partier.

St. Patrick’s Day Pub Crawl

A list of St. Patrick’s Day events wouldn’t be complete without a pub crawl. But that’s not to say the holiday is all about drinking. It’s about celebrating with friends and family, which happens to pair perfectly with a cold pint of Guinness or smooth shot of Jameson Irish Whiskey.

The St. Patrick’s Day Pub Crawl, hosted by Big RED Bus, will set off from Dogz Bar & Grill on March 17, running from 12 to 3:30 pm. For just $30, you’ll enjoy free transportation on a topless double-decker bus to three Irish pubs without having to wait in line or pay a cover charge. Plus you’ll get exclusive access to some incredible drink specials, a taco buffet, and free St. Patrick’s Day swag.

Shamrock ‘n’ Roll

Need plans for the day after St. Patrick’s Day? Check out Shamrock ‘n’ Roll presented by the Queen Mary. Featuring live musical performances on two large stages and three participating bars serving your favorite spirits, this is a great way to carry your St. Patrick’s Day celebration into the weekend.

Scheduled for Friday, March 18 from 6 pm to 1 am, this annual event starts on the Promenade Deck. Enjoy the fun and live music, and be sure to try some of the terrific Irish food from the Emerald Pub. You also can enter some fun contests.

Tickets are $15 online and $20 at the door.

3rd Annual St. Patrick’s Day Fun Run

Whether you’re hoping to balance out the inevitable feasting you’ll do on St. Patrick’s Day or you just enjoy a good run, the 3rd Annual St. Patrick’s Day Fun Run is a perfect way to celebrate the Irish saint and burn off a few calories in the process.

Featuring both 5K and 10K distances, the fun run/walk is scheduled for Saturday, March 12 at the Beach Bike Path in Long Beach, CA. Funds raised from registration will go toward Fitness 4 All, helping to support their Kid’s Progressive Marathon Program and to achieve their goal of bringing fitness programs to local women’s shelters and drug and alcohol treatment centers.

The event will begin promptly at 7:30 am with registration and 8 am for the race. Registration fees range from $25 for the children’s 5K to $40 for the adult’s 10K. However, prices may vary as the event date draws closer. Be sure to register early for the lowest price.
