Recommended Honda SUVs

May 25th, 2018 by

Honda vehicles are known for their dependability, and when you’re shopping for a family-friendly SUV, there’s no better brand to turn to for a reliable ride through Cerritos, Los Angeles, and Long Beach. Honda currently has three SUVs on the market, and the lineup is quite impressive.

Our team at Norm Reeves Honda Superstore Cerritos want to give you an overview of these three vehicles, so you can decide if one of the highly-recommended Honda SUVs is a good match for you!

Honda CR-V

2018 Honda CR-VThe CR-V is the Honda compact SUV, and it seats five passengers across two rows. You won’t be worrying about legroom, no matter where you sit: the front row offers 41.3 inches of legroom, while the rear seats have 40.4 inches. You’ll find a spacious 39.2 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats, as well as up to 75.8 cubic feet with those seats folded.

The CR-V has a towing capacity of 1,500 pounds when properly equipped. It’s ideal for towing small recreational items, like a jet ski or ATV (or two). And, this SUV was just redesigned last year, so you’ll find an upgraded upholstery pattern, along with more soft-touch surfaces and even rich wood paneling on the high-level trims.

Honda Pilot

SO-2018-Honda-Pilot-EXThe Pilot is a midsize SUV capable of seating either seven or eight riders across two rows. It has the most powerful engine of all the Honda SUVs: a 3.5L V6 with 280 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque on tap. If you’re looking for easy highway merging and passing, this accelerative SUV may be the ideal ride for you.

It’s no slouch in terms of legroom, either, with 40.9 inches in the front and 38.4 inches in the second row, both of which will accommodate adults easily. The third row is a great fit for kids, with legroom measuring 31.9 inches.

Have a lot of gear to bring along with you? The Pilot’s cargo area maxes out at 83.9 inches, which is plenty for storing camping gear or even furniture, if you’re making a move. And with a maximum towing capacity of 5,000 pounds (all-wheel drivetrain), you can hitch up a speedboat or trailer for your weekend getaway.

Honda HR-V

As a subcompact SUV, the HR-V is the smallest of all our top recommended Honda SUVs, and it has a top-notch fuel economy to match. When equipped with a CVT in place of the base manual transmission, it gets an EPA-estimated 28 city and 34 highway MPG, saving you a few trips to the pump.1

The HR-V seats up to five people across two rows, and legroom is ample across both rows, with 41.2 inches in the front and 39.3 inches in the rear. When rear seats are folded, you’ll have 58.8 cubic feet of cargo space, perfect for carrying everything from camping gear to large and bulky luggage.
