A Powerful Family Sedan, The 2013 Honda Accord

One of Honda’s best midsized cars, the Accord has undergone major changes through the years. The Accord combines size, power, and luxury to create a car that will fit either the family guy or the upper-tier manager. Returning this year with the same winning formula is the 2013 Honda Accord. The 2013 Accord comes with either a 2.4L engine or a 3.5L V-6. The 2.4L generates 185 horsepower while the 3.5L V-6 can produce up to 278 horsepower. The 2.4L consumes less fuel at 27 mpg city driving/36 mpg highway. The V-6 manages a decent rating at 21 mpg city/34 mpg highway.

The 2013 Accord comes either as a sedan or as a coupe. There are also different trims for both, with more features available in the higher-end trims. Both the body and the interior have been redesigned from last year’s model. The Accord is more aerodynamic, lighter and furnished to pass for a luxury car. Passengers in front and in the rear will love it with its comfortable seating and ample leg and head room.

Standard features include Bluetooth/iPod playability and auxiliary audio jacks, hands-free text messaging, and Pandora internet radio. You can add more features like the HondaLink multimedia system, a navigation system, dual-zone climate control, satellite radio, a premium audio system with subwoofer, and push-button start.

Safety features include front seat side airbags and side curtain airbags. The Accord has disc brakes equipped with anti-lock braking system and brake assist, electronic stability control and traction control, daytime running lights and child safety locks. Additional safety features can be availed of like blind-spot monitoring and Honda LaneWatch.

The Honda Accord’s greatest competitor will probably be the Toyota Camry and the Hyundai Sonata. The Accord will compete greatly for the top position, due to its superb engine capability and excellent interior, although its handling isn’t the best. Overall, the Accord is a superb choice.
