Sneak Peek of the Honda Insight

March 28th, 2018 by

The Honda Insight was first introduced in 1999, and was last made in 2014. Back then, it was a hatchback hybrid. Now, the 2019 model will be a sleek hybrid sedan, ready to take on the streets of Cerritos, Los Angeles, and Long Beach.

The vehicle won’t be available until late 2018. But for now, our team at Norm Reeves Honda Superstore Cerritos want to give you a sneak peek of the Honda Insight. Read all about it below, and don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.

Refined Exterior

The all-new 2019 Honda Insight will have a sleek design with a low, wide stance. The stance is highlighted by the “flying wing” grille, along with standard LED headlights and taillights. Plus, its sharp, dynamic character lines and sweeping, long roofline make a bold statement on the road.

With the very first version of the Insight, you had a car with an aerodynamic teardrop shape and tapered rear wheel arches. The second generation had a typical fastback hatch profile and more bulbous shape. The new Insight will have a sedan shape, falling in between the styles of the Civic and Accord.

Innovative Interior Features

The 2019 Insight will offer a number of premium amenities, including perforated leather seats and plenty of rear-seat legroom.

It’ll also offer an infotainment center with an 8-inch capacitive touchscreen. Plus, Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ smartphone integration will be available. Plug your compatible phone into the car’s USB port, and your favorite apps will appear on the display screen. This way, you can access your music playlists, podcasts, text messages, and more without fumbling around with your phone.

In addition, a 7-inch digital LCD driver information screen will come standard in the Insight. This will allow you to easily see important info, like speed, fuel, and audio options, right in your line of vision.

Advanced Safety Options

The Honda Insight will help keep you safe through the standard Honda Sensing® feature. This suite of driver-assisting technologies will alert you to things you might miss while driving.

Some of the safety features included in Honda Sensing® are…

  • Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Low-Speed Follow: Use this system to set a specific speed and following distance. If traffic ahead begins to slow down, ACC will slow your car down to maintain that preset distance.
  • Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR): Uses a small camera to recognize speed limit signs. If TSR spots one, it’ll send a visual icon on the Driver Information Interface.
  • Collision Mitigation Braking System™ (CMBS™): Will send a warning if it detects a collision with a vehicle in front of you. If you don’t react in time, CMBS™ can automatically apply the brakes.
