2013 Honda Fit: Surprisingly Spacious for a Subcompact Car
Owning a car need not to be that expensive especially when you are looking for a car where you can drive around town or in the city. The 2013 Honda Fit may seem to have competitors on its category but still, it remained to be the best subcompact utility car. The 2013 Honda Fit didn’t receive any new changes for this year’s offering. Although an electric version is being offered in the market – Honda Fit EV (reviewed separately). There are two trim levels available for the Honda Fit: Fit and Fit Sport.
The base Honda Fit is equipped with 15-inch steel wheels, keyless entry, air-conditioning system, full power accessories, tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, cruise control, 60/40 split backseat. Its entertainment features include a four-speaker sound system with CD player, an iPod/USB audio interface and auxiliary audio jack.
On the other hand, the 2013 Honda Fit Sport comes in with 16-inch alloy wheels, rear spoiler, sporty styling elements, transmission paddle shifters for automatic transmission, leather-wrapped steering wheel, floor mats, driver armrest and a six-speaker sound system. Sport’s optional feature is a navigation system wherein it features a touchscreen interface, voice controls and Bluetooth phone connectivity.
Powering the 2013 Honda Fit is a 1.5-liter four-cylinder capable of producing 117 horsepower and 106 pound-feet of torque. Standard match for the engine is a five speed manual transmission while a five-speed automatic is offered as an option. EPA estimates for the engine is rated at 27 mpg city/33 mpg highway and 29 mpg when combined for manual transmission*.
Safety features of the 2013 Fit includes antilock front disc and rear drum brakes, stability and traction control, side curtain airbags, front side airbags and active head restraints.
