2013 Honda Fit EV: Representing The New Breed Of Electric Cars

Just when we all thought that electric cars are suitable for city driving only, Honda surprises us with an electric car that is so good that it might as well represent the new breed of electric cars.  The best thing about Honda that everyone commends them for is their continuous search for improvement.  They learn from their previous mistakes and never ignore a single critic’s advice.  For 2013, the famous company once again sets the bar high with the 2013 Honda Fit EV.

For 2013, Honda Fit EV boasts of a 92-kW electric machine, Bio-Fabric seating material, Toshiba-produced 20-kW-h SCiB lithium-ion battery, regenerative braking system, and three-mode driver system.  It gives a respectable 82-mile range.  Full charging with a 240-volt source can be successfully done within just three hours.  The usual 120-volt power supply though would warrant more or less 15 hours.

The 2013 Honda Fit EV is said to have the best mpg-equivalency rating of any vehicle in the market today.  Given that Honda made use of a larger lithium-ion battery pack, changes needed to be made to allow for more room and Honda did excellent.  They added about three inches to the interior height that may seem quite a small number but made a whole lot of difference in comfort with regards to ample headroom and legroom while giving the driver and passengers a commanding view of the road.

One look inside the2013 Honda Fit EV was all it took to capture us.  Just when we thought it could not get any better, we noticed the multi-mode drive system and expected an ordinary throttle response from any electric car but what Honda Fit EV gave us from the sport mode is exceptional.  It is undoubtedly the most desirable performance ever coming from an electric vehicle.  Instant torque was released.  Even the normal mode offered strong acceleration as well that you would have no problem driving with in highways.
