2013 Honda CR-V: Still Competing For The Top

Honda gives you again this year the 2013 Honda CR-V. Though some would say it is outmoded by other competing SUVs, the CR-V still deserves merit for what it brings. It may seem weak and outdated, but the powertrain of the 2013 CR-V has just enough power to get things going. Its 2.4L engine generates 185hp, 163 lbs. of torque while consuming fuel at 23 mpg city/31 mpg highway*. The CR-V gives you a choice of manual or automatic transmission, front-drive or all-wheel drive. Fuel ratings are lower in all-wheel drive.

The 2013 CR-V gives you three trims to choose from- LX, EX and EX-L.  The CR-V has always been praised for its great interior. From a very impressive cargo space of 37.2 ft³ with rear seats folded and 70.9 ft³ with rear seats down, to passenger room which provides plenty of head and leg room, you’ll love being inside the CR-V. The lay-out of the controls on the driver side and the dashboard are also impressive.

All CR-Vs come with air-conditioning, keyless entry, power windows, tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel, a 5” information screen, a 4-speaker audio system w/CD player, auxiliary audio jack and USB/iPod interface.

On the higher trims, you get additional features which include leather upholstery, 10-way driver seat and heated front seats, heated mirrors, automatic climate control, a 6.5” screen w/voice recognition and live traffic information, navigation system or rear entertainment system, and a 328 Watt 7-speaker audio system w/ subwoofer.

The 2013 CR-V is a pretty safe SUV. It garnered excellent scores in safety and crash tests. For its safety features, it has antilock brakes, front side/side curtain airbags, stability/traction control, daytime running lights and child safety locks. It also has a rearview camera.

The 2013 CR-V costs $22,800-$30,100 depending on the trim and features. Power is one area that it definitely lacks; other competing SUVs can go above 200 horsepower. Taken totally though, you can’t go wrong with the Honda CR-V.
