2013 Honda Accord: Gunning To Be The Best Midsized Sedan

June 27th, 2013 by

The 2013 Honda Accord comes this year bringing much anticipation and excitement. Fans of the midsized sedan love its drivetrain, road performance, and abundance of standard features. And it will bring once again that winning formula. Despite possessing substantial power and speed, critics say the 2013 Accord has a very quiet engine.  There are two engine choices. First is a 2.4L engine generating 185hp, 181 lbs. of torque and a fuel rating of 27 mpg city/36 mpg highway. The second is a 3.5L V-6 engine that generates 278hp, 252 lbs. of torque and a fuel rating of 21 mpg city/34 mpg highway*.

The 2013 Accord is big not only on the outside, but also on the inside. There is plenty of room in front and at the back, plus the seats are very comfortable. The controls on the dashboard and the steering wheel are even better with easy-to-read gauges.

Standard features depend on the trim. Basic features include dual-zone climate control, full power accessories, cruise control, 8” video display, Bluetooth and smartphone connectivity, tilting telescopic steering wheel, 4-speaker sound system w/CD player, iPod/USB and auxiliary audio, and Pandora radio.

Features available on higher trims include leather upholstery, heated auto-dimming mirrors, 7-speaker premium audio system, HondaLink interface with smartphone connectivity, adaptive cruise control, LED headlights and bigger wheels.

The 2013 Accord received good safety/crash ratings, earning good marks for frontal/side impact tests and also the rollover test. Standard safety features include front side and side curtain airbags, antilock disc brakes, stability/traction control, daytime running lights, and child safety locks. The LaneWatch blind-spot system syncs nicely with the 8” display and rearview camera.

The 2013 Accord nearly has everything. Its price range is $21,500-$32,000 depending on the trim. It has power and acceleration and you will love its cabin and all of its features. You cannot go wrong if you choose the Accord.
