The Passport engine comes paired with the 9-speed Automatic Transmission with Shift-By-Wire and Paddle Shifters, and the engine also includes Variable Cylinder Management™, which helps improve efficiency by using just three cylinders during routine driving.

The Murano engine comes mated to the Xtronic CVT® (continuously variable transmission), but doesn’t include a cylinder management system. In terms of output, the Passport generates 280 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque, while the Murano produces 260 horsepower and 240 lb-ft of torque.

The Passport and Murano each offer spacious cabins that are equipped to carry five passengers. The Honda Passport offers passengers in the front row 40.1 inches of headroom and 40.9 inches of legroom, while the Murano offers 39.9 inches of headroom and 40.5 inches of legroom in its front row. In the rear, the Honda Passport offers 40.1 inches of headroom and 39.6 inches of legroom. The Murano, on the other hand, only offers 39.8 inches of headroom and 38.7 inches of legroom.

Each SUV offers enough space behind the second row for cargo. The Passport offers 41.2 cubic feet of cargo space that can expand to 77.9 cubic feet when the second row is folded. The Murano only offers 32.1 cubic feet of space that expands to 67 cubic feet of total cargo space.

2019 Honda PassportThe 2019 Honda Passport comes standard with Honda Sensing® features that work with exterior sensors that can detect an impending collision based on factors like speed and proximity. These features include the Collision Mitigation Braking System™, Forward Collision Warning, Road Departure Mitigation System, and Adaptive Cruise Control with Low Speed Follow. The Nissan Murano, on the other hand, only comes standard with Intelligent Forward Collision Warning and Automatic Emergency Braking—everything else requires an upgrade.
